Whatever the disaster, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, leads the federal government’s response as part of a team of responders.

    The FEMA Recovery Directorate, Customer Satisfaction Analysis (CSA) Section owns and administers the Customer Satisfaction Analysis System (CSAS). CSAS collects, stores, and reports on responses received through surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, and/or one-on-one interviews designed to assess customer satisfaction and improving FEMA services. FEMA conducted this Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) because CSAS stores Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from FEMA employees and members of the public in order to conduct CSA’s customer service satisfaction assessments.

  • DHS/FEMA/PIA-029 - Citizen Corps Program

    FEMA’s Office of Protection and National Preparedness (PNP), Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD) administers the Citizen Corps Program, which also includes the Citizen Corps web-based application, and the Citizen Corps Database. Citizen Corps’ mission is to strengthen the collaboration between government and community leaders from all sectors to encourage citizens’ preparedness through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to all hazards and all threats. Through Citizen Corps, communities can establish and register Citizen Corps Councils (Councils) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) programs. This Privacy Impact Assessment analyzes Citizen Corps’ collection, use, maintenance, retrieval, and dissemination of personally identifiable information associated with points of contacts designated by Councils, CERTs, and other Citizen Corps partners.  June 28, 2013

  • DHS Campus Resilience Pilot Program

    The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), and Office of Academic Engagement (OAE) are developing a web-enabled Campus Resilience (CR) system which will provide practical and immediately useable processes and tools to a wide array of campus communities. The CR system will be developed through targeted community engagement with six selected university and college campuses via the Campus Resilience Pilot Program (CR Pilot). With a final goal of making America’s campuses more resilient, the CR Pilot must include these elements: (1) promote FEMA’s Whole Community philosophy, (2) draw upon existing DHS resources and also those originating from the Department of Education (ED) and the Department of Justice (DOJ), and (3) assist American schools to proactively assess and plan for major man-made or natural incidents.

    The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its federal partners remain in close coordination with state, local, and tribal governments to coordinate and provide resources as needed in connection with preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation associated with Hurricane Harvey impacting Texas and Louisiana.
