SciFest Info graphic. DHS Science and Technology seal. SciFest All Access, October 18-24, 2021. First Aid for Severe Trauma. S&T will participate in the SciFest All Access Virtual STEM Expo from October 18-24, 2021. SciFest All Access, a program within the USA Science and Engineering Festival, is a free virtual expo geared towards K – 12 students featuring interactive activities, STEM stage shows, and student projects.

If you’re virtually attending SciFest, visit the S&T booth to learn about our First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) course, a collaborative effort with the American Red Cross and National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health. FAST provides training to high school students on how to handle life-threatening bleeding emergencies. By utilizing first aid techniques derived from combat medicine for use by civilians, FAST empowers high school students with the skills and knowledge necessary to save a life, from recognizing life-threatening bleeding to safely positioning a trauma victim and applying a tourniquet.

Learn more about the FAST program and bring your K-12 student to SciFest All Access!
