Facebook Tech Talk: From Idea to Commercial Product: Accelerating Technology Transition

Transitioning research from the lab to the marketplace, passing through what is often called the Valley of Death, is a tremendous challenge. The DHS Science and Technology Directorate’s (S&T) Transition to Practice (TTP) Program is addressing the challenge head-on, playing a leading role in accelerating the commercialization of government-funded technologies.DHS Science and Technology Directorate. Facebook Tech Talk: From Idea to Commercial Product: Accelerating Technology Transition. Tuesday May 29. 11:-00 – 11:30 AM EDT. Facebook Live icon. Facebook.com/dhsscitech. #TechTalk

On May 29 at 11 a.m. ET, join DHS S&T for a Facebook Live Tech Talk to learn about the TTP Program and how it is successfully bridging the Valley of Death by helping transform mature, cutting-edge technologies developed within government labs and universities into commercially available products. S&T Program Manager Nadia Carlsten will also discuss several of the cybersecurity technologies currently in the program that are ready for adoption and answer your questions.

Each year, TTP identifies the most promising technologies developed at federal laboratories, federally funded research and development centers, and universities for the transition-to-market program. Selected technologies take part in a structured transition process designed to increase maturity and market readiness and are introduced at TTP-hosted “Demo Day” events to investors, developers and integrators who partner with S&T to help the technologies on the road to commercialization.

Established in 2012, TTP has since selected 40 innovative technologies into its portfolio, of which nearly 20 have already been transitioned through commercialization and open-source release.

Mark your calendar and be sure to join us for this informative S&T Facebook Tech Talk on May 29 at 11 a.m. ET, and follow S&T on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for the latest updates on TTP technologies.
