The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) maintains numerous relationships with members of the academic community and directly engages with school administrators, faculty, and students on a range of issues. The Office of Academic Engagement (OAE) supports DHS’s mission by building, improving and leveraging relationships with the academic community.

The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Office of Academic Engagement (OAE) publicly released two Summary Reports and Situational Manuals containing key findings, learnings and scenarios from recent trainings though its Campus Resilience (CR) Program.

In the wake of the recent attack in Parkland, Florida, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is stepping up actions to better protect our nation’s schools against gun violence, as well as other potential threats. DHS conducts training, exercises, and preparedness activities year-round to increase the security of schools across the country and the communities in which they are located.
