Volunteer Activities to Fit in Your Schedule

Release Date: February 21, 2024

Volunteering allows you to connect with others and contribute to your surroundings. You can make your community a better place through a variety of ways by formal or informal volunteering.

Formal volunteering involves helping others through various foundations or non-profits. Some examples include supporting food banks, helping at animal shelters, or tutoring students.

Informal volunteering is similar but does not involve an outside organization. Here are some informal volunteer ideas that may easily accommodate your schedule.

  1. Help someone carry grocery bags to their car.
  2. Call a friend, family, or neighbor and offer to make a meal or babysit.
  3. Sweep the steps for a nearby senior or mobility challenged person.
  4. Go for a walk and pick up trash.
  5. Do a chore or run an errand for a local senior or ill neighbor.
