DHS and Army to Preview Training Platform to Support Local Police, Fire, and Ems Active Shooter Preparedness Efforts

November 18, 2013 –The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), in partnership with the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Human Research and Engineering Directorate (HRED), Simulation Training and Technology Center (STTC), will join the Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento first responder community to conduct a demonstration of the pilot Enhanced Dynamic Geo-Social Environment (EDGE) virtual training platform—an platform that trains multiple first responders across agencies, disciplines, and jurisdictions.
