October 2024

• 01 October 2024 - Final Victory Inn Defendant Sentenced to Over 15 Years in Prison | USDOJ - Eastern District of Michigan
  Terry Pruitt, a conspirator in the sex and drug trafficking organization that operated out of the former Victory Inn hotel in Dearborn, Michigan, was sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison last week based on his conviction on drug trafficking charges.

August 2024

• 12 August 2024 - Ronald James Aitkens Apprehended and Returned to Canada to Face Sentencing | Calgary, Canada
  Ron Aitkens was convicted of two offences under the Alberta Securities Act in July 2020. Canada-wide warrants were issued for his arrest after he failed to show up in court for sentencing. He was arrested in the United States and returned to Canada.

April 2024

• 24 April 2024 - Former Comptroller General of Ecuador Convicted for $10M International Bribery and Money Laundering Scheme | USDOJ
  A federal jury in Miami convicted the former Comptroller General of Ecuador yesterday for his role in a multimillion-dollar international bribery and money laundering scheme.
• 21 April 2024 - Two Murfreesboro Men Charged In Conspiracy To Ship Massive Quantities Of Methamphetamine To New Zealand | USDOJ - Middle District of Tennessee
  Steven Weaver, 50, and Jamie Woods, 37, were arrested by federal agents and charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, and possession and distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.
• 19 April 2024 - 14 Arrested for Using Emergency Grandparent Scam Across Canada | Ontario Provincial Police
  From January 22, 2024, to April 8, 2024, there were 126 identified victims who lost approximately $739,000 to the organized crime group running the fraud.
• 16 April 2024 - Long Island Businessman Sentenced to 24 Months in Prison for Covid-19 Loan Fraud | USDOJ - Eastern District of New York
  Defendant used more than $3 million in fraudulently obtained small business loans for personal expenses, including the purchase of a home in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
• 15 April 2024 - Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to Prison for Torture and Illegally Exporting Weapons Parts and Related Services to Iraq | USDOJ
  A Pennsylvania man was sentenced today to 70 years in prison for torturing an Estonian citizen in 2015 in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and for the illegal export of weapons parts and related services.
• 10 April 2024 - Florida Attorney Sentenced to 8 years in Prison in Fraudulent Charitable Contribution Tax Scheme | USDOJ
  Defendant earned over $10 million from selling “Ultimate Tax Plan”.
• 09 April 2024 - Lee’s Summit Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography, Sextortion Scheme | USDOJ - Western District of Missouri
• Marek Redding, 20, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Howard F. Sachs to two counts of producing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of extortion.
• 09 April 2024 - Six Men Sentenced For Their Roles In Seven Gang-Related San Francisco Cold-Case Murders And In A Criminal Enterprise That Terrorized The Mission District For Years | USDOJ - Northern District of California
  The defendants received prison sentences ranging from 11 to 32 years.
• 08 April 2024 - Illinois Family Members Sentenced for Kidnapping, Forced Labor and Conspiracy for Coercing Two Minors and a Third Victim in Years-Long Scheme | USDOJ
  Domingo Francisco-Juan, 44, was sentenced today to life in prison for kidnapping, forced labor and conspiracy to commit kidnapping and forced labor.
• 04 April 2024 - Man Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison for Production of Child Pornography of Infant Child | USDOJ - Southern District of Florida
  HSI West Palm Beach and HSI Fort Pierce investigated the case of a video showing Codey Allen Bates, 30, of Vero Beach, Florida, and an infant child.
• 03 April 2024 - Two Individuals Plead Guilty to Participating in Insider Trading Scheme Based on SPAC Merger With Trump Media & Technology Group | USDOJ - Southern District
  Michael Shvartsman and Gerald Shvartsman Made More Than $22 Million in Illegal Profits by Trading in Advance of the Announcement that Digital World Acquisition Company Was Going to Merge with Former President Donald J. Trump’s Media Company
• 01 April 2024 - U.S. Attorney’s Office Launches Second Operation Aimed at Prosecuting Child Predators | USDOJ - Northern District of Oklahoma
  U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson announced the launch of Operation Clean Sweep II, which is aimed at holding accountable child predators throughout the Northern District of Oklahoma.

• 29 March 2024 - California Man Sentenced for Attempting to Illegally Export Firearms and Night Vision Rifle Scopes to The Sultanate of Oman | USDOJ
  Fares Abdo Al Eyani, 41, of Oakland, California, was sentenced to 12 months and a day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for conspiring to export defense articles and attempting to export defense articles.
• 28 March 2024 - Former School Bus Driver Sentenced to 9 Years for Cyberstalking a Child | USDOJ District of New Hampshire
  An Eliot, Maine, man was sentenced today in federal court in Concord for cyberstalking an 8-year-old boy, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces.
• 28 March 2024 - Man Pleads Guilty to Selling $3.5M in Counterfeit and Deficient Electronics for Use in Military Systems | USDOJ
  A California man pleaded guilty yesterday to a scheme to defraud the DOD's Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) by selling over $3.5 million worth of fan assemblies to the DLA that were either counterfeit or misrepresented to be new.
• 27 March 2024 - Jonathan Bash Sentenced to 21 Years Imprisonment for Distribution of a Fentanyl Analogue Resulting in Death | USDOJ - Eastern District of Tennessee
  Bash pled guilty to distributing para-fluorofentanyl, a fentanyl analogue, that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Charlotte Gallant.
• 22 March 2024 - Two People Facing Charges Following Cross-Border Firearms Investigation | Royal Canadian Mounted Police
  The Nova Scotia RCMP arrested a 51-year-old man and 15-year-old youth from Millbrook First Nation after HSI passed on a tip about an attempted purchase of a prohibited firearm.
• 19 March 2024 - CBSA Border Officers Seize Over 1.5 Tonnes of Cocaine at Port of Halifax | Canada Border Services Agency
  In early March 2024, more than 1.5 tonnes of suspected cocaine was seized by CBSA border services officers at the Container Examination Facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia (NS). The seizure has been valued at approximately $194 million.
• 14 March 2024 - Tri-Cities Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Receipt of Child Pornography | USDOJ - Eastern District of Washington
  Larry Jay Halls, age 54, of the Tri-Cities, was sentenced today after pleading guilty to receipt of child pornography.
