Body

These editions of the Yearbook provide immigration data along with related historical information. The major areas covered include: immigrants admitted for legal permanent residence; refugees approved and admitted; asylee cases filed and approved; nonimmigrant admissions (e.g., tourists, students); aliens naturalized; and deportable aliens located and removed. The statistics for 1999 reflect continued decreases in immigration and asylum cases received. Nonimmigrant admissions, refugee arrivals, persons naturalized, and deportable aliens located increased.
