The penalty: For sex trafficking of minors by force, fraud, or coercion, AND depending on the age of the minor, the trafficker is subject to a minimum of 10-15 years in prison, up to a maximum life term prison sentence.

The violations in the scenario fall under 18 U.S.C. § 1591.

As disturbing as it is to watch, remember that there are victims that are currently falling prey to traffickers in similar situations across schools right here, right now in the U.S.

Remember, you don’t have to be a legal expert to know that human trafficking is illegal and an utter violation of human rights. The goal is for you to recognize that human trafficking is against the law and there ARE legal consequences for those crimes.
