No doubt about it: there is a lot going on at the moment. As a result, challenges likely extend well beyond your mission responsibilities and spill over into almost every nook and cranny of your lives, including the lives of those you care for and about, inside and outside of DHS.

Your job is not easy and your concerns are many. But one thing I know about each and every one of you is that your heart is big and your mind strong. As Barbara De Angelis said, “We don’t develop courage by being happy every day. We develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.”
