Glennon Doyle once said, “Maybe the yes comes before the readiness. Maybe you say yes and then you become equipped to handle whatever is about to happen.” This quote struck me this morning as I thought about what this week will hold for not only me, but all of you as well. We don’t always have all of the answers at our fingertips, there is not always a formal return on investment to strive for, or a measure or metric indicating we’re headed in the right direction.
Sometimes, we just have to follow the yes that is coming from deep down within us, and we have to leap off that cliff, believing, knowing really, that our wings will develop and lift us up. It’s ok that you don’t know what the future holds; it’s ok if you are the only one who believes in your dream; and it’s ok if you say yes without having every single thing in order. After all, isn’t that really what this journey is all about? If it were all laid out for us, neatly, in order, with known success at the end, would it really be all that rewarding? The reward is in knowing that despite all your worries and yes, even your fears, you went for it anyhow, you dared to say yes, despite all the odds. Good for you!
