Exercise is key to healthy aging. The National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging (NIA) recommends that, in addition to eating well, all seniors engage in regular physical activity. Exercise can benefit anyone, including seniors with heart conditions, diabetes, or physical limitations. Before starting a new exercise regimen, always check with your doctor.
The NIA has created the Go For Life campaign, a one-stop-shop for seniors seeking to make healthy life choices. Seniors can find exercise videos, fact sheets, fitness trackers, nutrition information, and many other resources designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Share these resources with your elderly loved ones and encourage them to make changes that will allow for the best quality of life possible in their golden years.
