2018 REMCDP Grant Recipient

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) reestablished the Rural Emergency Medical Communications Demonstration Project (REMCDP) grant to work with a public health or medical facility to examine communications barriers and identify solutions that enhance existing emergency communications infrastructure.  The REMCDP Notice of Funding Opportunity was open on from July 10, 2018 through August 10, 2018. 

Terrorism Prevention Grant Evaluation

Past local terrorism prevention programs did not undergo robust, independent evaluation. To redress this gap, at the request of the DHS Office of Terrorism Prevention Partnerships (OTPP), the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) was looked upon to collaborate with subject matter experts in the field to study these programs’ effectiveness in delivering information about what does and does not work in the prevention space.

DHS Announces Grant Allocations for Fiscal Year 2016 Preparedness Grants

As part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) ongoing efforts to support state, local, tribal, and territorial partners, Secretary Jeh Johnson today announced final allocations of $275 million for six Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 DHS competitive preparedness grant programs. These allocations, in addition to the more than $1.3 billion in non-competitive grant funding announced by Secretary Johnson in February, total more than $1.6 billion in FY 2016 to assist states, urban areas, tribal and territorial governments, nonprofit agencies, and the private sector with their preparedness efforts.
