U.S. Customs and Border Protection Student Trainee Webinar
When: Tuesday, September 25, 2018
Time: 4 – 5 p.m. (EDT)

CBP has 44 vacancies for Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) Student Trainees. CBPO Student Trainees support the mission of the Office of Field Operations to secure the border and prevent drug smuggling while enforcing immigration laws, protecting agriculture, and ensuring trade compliance. CBP Student Trainees assist CBPOs and/or Agriculture Specialists with conveyances, cargo, passenger and baggage, interdiction activities, screening packages and scanning equipment. They also support the inspection of vessels and aircraft for restricted or prohibited commodities, by-products, contaminants and pests that are potentially dangerous to the nation’s agriculture.

The live webinar will provide an overview of the paid internship position, the application and hiring process, and there will be a Q&A session at the end.

The event is free for participants. As space is limited, you are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Women in Law Enforcement Webinar
When: February 28, 2018
This webinar featured a panel of female ICE special agents and deportation officers who shared their experiences in law enforcement and career paths at ICE. In addition, human resource officials explained the federal application process and highlighted ICE career pathways for students and recent graduates.

2017

DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis Internship Program
When: September 7, 2017
This webinar included an overview of the application process, a panel of former and current I&A interns, and a question and answer session for the 2018 I&A Internship Program. The internship program is a paid experience focused on developing talented students into skilled, well-rounded DHS intelligence professionals.

U.S. Secret Service Webinar with Hispanic-Serving Institutions
When: April 27, 2017
Designed specifically for students at and recent graduates from Hispanic-Serving Institutions, this presentation featured representatives from the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) who provided an overview of the USSS dual mission, hiring process, and career tracks.

National Cybersecurity Communications and Integration Center (NCCIC) Tours

OAE hosts student tours of the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) to introduce students to the broad range of cyber careers available at the Department.

Designed for students pursuing a cyber-related degree or interested in the field of cybersecurity, the program allows students to tour the NCCIC Watch Floor and hear from cybersecurity professionals about cyber threats facing colleges and universities.

OAE is now scheduling tours for 2018 and 2019. If your institution is located or traveling in the Maryland, Washington, D.C., or Virginia area and would like to schedule a tour, please contact academicengagement@hq.dhs.gov.
