DHS And Mexico To Update Repatriation Arrangements Along Shared Border

Event Date: February 23, 2016 at 12:30PM ET to 12:30PM ET

WASHINGTON – On Feb. 23, officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with officials from the Government of Mexico’s Secretariat of Foreign Relations and Secretariat of Government, will announce the finalization of negotiations for the nine (9) Local Repatriation Arrangements along the U.S.-Mexico border.

DHS and Government of Mexico officials will be on site to acknowledge the significant accomplishment of finalizing these arrangements. Officials will also discuss the ways in which these arrangements substantially strengthen the bilateral framework for the protection of Mexican citizens being returned to Mexico, improve the efficient use of limited resources, and increase coordination during the repatriation process.

DHS CBP and ICE officials will join Government of Mexico officials to announce the finalization of negotiations for the nine Local Repatriation Arrangements along the U.S.-Mexico border.
