Joint Statement from DHS and VA on Continued Collaboration Throughout COVID-19 Pandemic

In a whole-of-government effort, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Veterans Affairs have worked very closely together throughout the coronavirus pandemic to bring critical medical supplies to our nation’s heroes. While the supply and demand for personal protective equipment during this crisis is greater than ever before, the federal government has worked with governmental and private sector partners to secure what the VA needs.

Zika Virus: DHS Response Plan

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which includes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is the U.S. Government’s lead for efforts to respond to the Zika virus. As the White House announced on Monday, the President is also seeking more than $1.8 billion in supplemental funding from Congress to address the virus and our government’s response efforts.
