Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas today announced that the Department has issued a final rule that will preserve and fortify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy for certain eligible noncitizens who arrived in the United States as children, deferring their removal and allowing them an opportunity to access a renewable, two-year work permit.
To support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), increase and strengthen outreach, as a core mission of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), the USCG and OSDBU are partnering to host the first National Multiple Award Construction Contract (NMACC) Vendor Outreach Matchmaking Event (VOME). We will hold the event virtually on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

To support Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities through the Federal Government, and the core mission of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) of maximizing prime and subcontracting opportunities for small businesses, the OSDBU is hosting its next virtual Vendor Outreach Matchmaking Event (VOME) on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 focusing on small businesses with socioeconomic status (HUBZone, Women-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Small Disadvantaged Businesses).
DHS recently launched a new mobile application—DHS Intel—designed to deliver and share timely intelligence information with law enforcement and first responders across the country. Today, many of us consume information from news feeds, blogs, social media, podcasts and a variety of other sources on our mobile phones; however, until last month, most intelligence information was either sent via e-mail distro lists or viewed on sites optimized for desktops and laptops. Now, this information is available on-the-go for state, local, territorial, tribal (SLTT), campus, and federal partners who rely on intelligence to keep the country safe.
On Apr 18, 2022, the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD) assisted state and local law enforcement with protecting Boston Marathon participants and observers.
Secretary Mayorkas Delivers Remarks at a Joint Media Availability with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken
Secretary Mayorkas traveled to Panama City, Panama, to discuss regional coordination in managing irregular migration. As part of the visit, he attended a Ministerial Conference on Migration and Protection with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and foreign and security ministers from throughout the Western Hemisphere.
