Department of Homeland Security Statement on the President’s Fiscal Year 2021 Budget

The president has released the details of the Department of Homeland Security’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Budget to Congress, which includes $49.8 billion to DHS in discretionary funding and an additional $5.1 billion for the Disaster Relief Fund (DRF). This Budget balances the need to strengthen our defenses in border and transportation security, enforce immigration laws, increase our defensive posture in cybersecurity, and improve resiliency to both man-made and natural disasters. 

DHS Issues Final Rule to Protect Religious Liberties of Social Program Beneficiaries

Today the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), along with eight other federal agencies, published a final rule that will provide new religious liberty protections for beneficiaries of federally funded social service programs, while also adding new protections for the ability of religious providers to compete for government funds on the same basis as any other private organization.
