I have been fortunate to have served my country for more than 45 years - first as a Marine and then as the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. I am honored to be asked to serve as the Chief of Staff to the President of the United States.

Readout of Secretary Kelly’s Trip to Mexico

On Wednesday and Thursday, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly met with President Enrique Peña Nieto and other senior Mexican government officials in Mexico City. Discussions with the President, Secretaries Videgaray and Meade, and Attorney General Cervantes focused on security, trade facilitation, immigration control, drug interdiction, drug demand reduction in the United States and joint efforts to confront transnational organized crime. Secretary Kelly will meet with Secretary Osorio Chong on Friday.

Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will travel to Miami, Florida to convene, in partnership with the Government of Mexico, the Conference on Prosperity and Security in Central America, to be held on June 15-16. 

Secretary Kelly to Visit the National Hurricane Center in Miami

On Thursday, June 1st, Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly will visit the National Hurricane Center to receive operational briefings regarding the 2017 hurricane season. Secretary Kelly will be joined by Florida Governor Rick Scott and officials from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Hurricane Center, as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Hurricane Liaison Team.

DHS Recognizes Police Week

Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly and Deputy Secretary Elaine Duke are joining police officers from across the nation in honoring fallen officers during the 2017 National Police Week. Secretary Kelly and Deputy Secretary Duke are participating in Police Week events to thank law enforcement officers and their families for their important role in keeping our nation safe.
