Acting Secretary McAleenan Travels to El Paso

On July 11, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Acting Secretary Kevin K. McAleenan is to El Paso, Texas to meet with Border Mayors from the U.S. Conference of Mayors, meet with DHS surge volunteers currently working at the border, host a town hall with DHS personnel, and participate in operational briefings and tours of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities in the area.

DHS Volunteer Force Documentation

The DHS Volunteer Force Authorization Statement is the supervisor authorization form for federal employees who want to register for the DHS Volunteer Force.  In addition, participation in the DHS Volunteer Force may require contact with CBP or ICE Detainees in the performance of your duties. As such, in accordance with 6 CFR Part 115.117 (a), you are required to answer the questions in the DHS Prison Rape Elimination Action (PREA) Form.

The U.S. Secret Service Rescue Swimmer program is designed to prepare special agents and officers to successfully perform a variety of rescue and emergency medical skills in the open water. Agents who have been awarded the Rescue Swimmer designation are assigned to protective missions involving protectee water activities.

DHS Announces 2017 Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative

The Department of Homeland Security today announced it will begin accepting applications for the 2017 Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative, inviting current undergraduate and graduate students to support the DHS cyber mission at Department field offices in over 40 locations across the country.
