November 19, 2020, DHS’s Office of the CIS Ombudsman hosted the second of two webinars to discuss USCIS' current state of operations given fiscal challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic.
On October 7, 2020, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) hosted a public webinar to discuss USCIS’ Processing of Concurrently Pending Forms N-400 (Application for Naturalization) and Forms I-751 (Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence). Subject matter experts (SMEs) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) also joined this session and they committed to provide answers (in writing) to the additional questions from stakeholders after the webinar.

By statute, the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) submits an Annual Report to Congress by June 30 of each year. Our Annual Report must provide a summary of the most pervasive and serious problems encountered by individuals and employers applying for immigration benefits with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The Annual Report also reviews past recommendations to improve USCIS programs and services.
The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) holds engagements and provides summaries for current and past webinars.
On February 5, 2020, USCIS posted several new or revised forms to its website in response to the implementation of its Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds Final Rule.
The CIS Ombudsman's Office is warning the public that there is a fraud scam using the CIS Ombudsman's telephone number and that individuals should never give personal information over the phone to an individual claiming to be an Ombudsman official.
On February 14, 2019, the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman) hosted a teleconference with speakers from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to discuss how the agency is changing the way it provides support services to applicants. USCIS is calling this initiative the Information Services Modernization Program, or InfoMod for short.
