File a Travel Complaint (DHS TRIP)

The Department of Homeland Security Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP) is the single point of contact for individuals who want to report difficulties regarding their security screening at transportation hubs or U.S. borders.

People who have been;

  • denied or delayed airline boarding,
  • denied or delayed entry into or exit from the U.S. at a port of entry or border crossing,
  • repeatedly referred to additional (secondary) screening can file an inquiry to seek redress

Complete instructions on the DHS TRIP Program are available for review. DHS TRIP uses an online form that you complete using your computer and an Internet connection. It takes just a few moments to complete the screens and submit your complaint. You will be asked to submit documentation to complete the redress process.

Submit your additional documentation as soon as possible to speed processing of your DHS TRIP request. If supporting documents are not received within 30 days, work on your case will be suspended until the documents are received.

The fastest way to get a response is to e-mailing your completed form and copies of documents to TRIP@tsa.dhs.gov. Each email should be smaller than 10 MB. If you must send multiple e-mails for your attachments, use the same subject line to expedite processing.

Failure to submit copies of the required documents will prevent your inquiry from being reviewed. Documentation may also be submitted via US Mail to the following address:
