DHS Press Office
This past week the United States Secret Service once again demonstrated why it is the finest protection service in the world.
This week the Secret Service coordinated and successfully implemented the security for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, attended by 32 Heads of State or Government. This very same week, the Secret Service provided the security for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, which, this year, involved the screening and processing of over 34,000 guests through 20 magnetometers prior to entry on to the South Lawn. The successful, skillful and flawless execution of these enormous security operations by the Secret Service is truly remarkable – particularly with the added demands of the ongoing presidential season. Yet, this is business as usual for the Secret Service, without any hint of fanfare or self-promotion.
I know I speak for President Obama when I say that the selfless dedication, skill and hard work of the Secret Service is never overlooked, and always appreciated.
I congratulate the Secret Service, along with ICE Homeland Security Investigations, TSA, the Washington Metro Police Department and the other agencies that supported this week’s activities.
