  • DHS Climate Action Plan to Address the Impacts of Climate Change and Ensure the Department’s Climate Resilience

    The DHS Climate Action Plan outlines the steps the Department is taking to tackle the climate crisis, including bolstering the Department’s ability to adapt to climate change, building national resilience, undertaking mitigation measures, and addressing key vulnerabilities. This plan is part of President Biden’s whole-of-government approach to confronting the climate crisis.

  • Non-Disclosure of Information Protected under 8 U.S.C. Section 1367

    Department of Homeland Security instruction on the non-disclosure of information protected under 8 U.S.C. Section 1367. This section protects any information relating to non-citizens, and their beneficiaries, who are seeking or have been approved for immigrant status as (1) battered spouses, children and parents under provisions of Violence Against Women Act (VAWA); (2) victims of a severe form of human trafficking who generally are cooperating with law enforcement authorities; or (3) victims who have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse and are cooperating with law enforcement authorities.

  • Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for El Paso Service Processing Center

    ICE has prepared this Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 (42 United States Code [U.S.C.] 4321 et seq.) and other relevant federal and state laws and regulations, as well as DHS Directive 023-01, Revision 01 and DHS Instruction Manual 023-01-001-01, Revison 01, Implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act. This Draft EA discloses the environmental impacts that would result from the Proposed Action and alternatives.

    Pursuant to Section 3 of Executive Order 13989 (January 20, 2021), a limited waiver of the requirements of Section 1, Paragraph 2 of the Executive Order for Ms. Michelle Brané. The waiver is in the public interest to enable Ms. Brané to effectively carry out her duties as Director of the Family Reunification Task Force at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

  • Krishnaswami, Charanya (02/09/2021)

    Pursuant to Section 3 of Executive Order 13989 (January 20, 2021), a limited waiver of the requirements of Section 1, Paragraph 3 of the Executive Order for Ms. Charanya Krishnaswami. The waiver is necessary and it is in the public interest to grant this waiver to enable Ms. Krishnaswami to effectively carry out her duties as Senior Counselor to the Secretary for Immigration at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

  • FOIA Compliance Instruction 262-11-004: DHS Employee Personal Identifiable Information Protection

    This Instruction provides guidance on the case-by-case analysis of the application of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) exemptions to withhold Department employee personally identifiable information.

  • Travel Risk Assessment

    The DHS Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans recently completed its evaluation and review of all currently travel restricted and 180-day warning countries.  Notably, this review included new recommendations to remove from travel restrictions certain countries that have demonstrated significant compliance improvement.

    On January 12, Acting Secretary Gaynor issued a memorandum expanding the period of the 59th Presidential Inauguration National Special Security Event to begin on January 13, 2021.
