MEXICO CITY—U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Mexican Secretary of the Interior Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong met in Mexico City today to discuss issues related to migration, border security, and trusted traveler programs.

During the meeting, Secretaries Napolitano and Osorio Chong underscored the ongoing partnership and cooperation between the United States and Mexico, along the shared border, which is critical to both nations’ economic competitiveness and national security.

Secretaries Napolitano and Osorio Chong also reiterated that a strong bi-national relationship is key to ensuring the region's security, facilitating legitimate trade and travel, enhancing information sharing, and continuing efforts to ensure a more safe, secure and resilient global supply chain.
