    This plastic, 3.5"x2’’ card fits in a wallet, pocket, or glove compartment to keep as a handy reference for first responders. The card explains human trafficking, details the classical presentations found in trafficking victims, lists several common indicators of trafficking, and provides information on how to report suspected trafficking.

  • IND Health and Safety Planning Guide

    The Health and Safety Planning Guide for Planners, Safety Officers, and Supervisors for Protecting Responders Following a Nuclear Detonation provides response planners, safety officers, and supervisors with specific information and recommendations to protect responders from the effects and impacts of an extreme event: a 10 kiloton (KT) improvised nuclear device (IND) within the first 72 hours of a detonation.

  • S&T FRG Industry Response to Encryption Requirements CAB

    DHS OIC, with permission from each manufacturer, is making the correspondence received available. The manufacturers’ correspondence explains, in each manufacturer’s own words, the process each manufacturer is using to bring its equipment into compliance with the Encryption Requirements CAB and the process each manufacturers’ customers would follow to ensure the equipment they are going to purchase or have already purchased would be or would be made P25 CAP Compliant. If you have specific questions about the processes outlined in a letter please contact the respective manufacturer.  If you have questions about the Encryption Requirements CAB please contact P25CAP@hq.dhs.gov.

  • S&T FRG Objective Speech Quality Estimates for Project 25/Voice over Long Term Evolution Interconnections

    In an extended P25/VoLTE public safety communication system voice signals will pass through both Multi-Band Excitation (MBE) and Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) speech coders. Thus it is important to quantify the speech quality that can be expected for MBE, AMR, and combinations of these speech coders. We used the Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) algorithm to provide initial assessments of speech quality for these coders alone and in combinations.
