Announcing the New Innovate S&T Video Series

Release Date: December 12, 2017

A couple weeks ago, I talked about the importance of public-private partnerships and how our partners are to helping S&T address challenges across critical infrastructure sectors. I want to expand on this to cover areas we are looking for more partners in industry, academia, and government who can help us identify solutions to evolving homeland security threats. With that in mind, S&T is launching a new way to engage with us around partnership opportunities - the Innovate S&T live video series.

Similar to our Tech Talks, this new video series will provide viewers with information about needs and technology we are looking for and allow them to ask questions in real time. S&T staff from our Office of Public-Private Partnerships will give you insights into specific ways to work with us, making it a great opportunity for those who have questions about the many business opportunities S&T provides.

We’re kicking off the new Innovate S&T series with a double-header. Last week’s video chat focused on explaining the proposal submission process for the DHS Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. If you’re new to the SBIR program, or want to learn any details that may be unique to DHS’s SBIR program, I encourage you to watch the video on S&T’s Facebook page.

Today, from 1 – 1:30 p.m. ET, we will host another Innovate S&T live video chat on ways to work with us. During this session, we’ll explain ways businesses can help S&T solve pressing challenges and highlight information from the S&T Industry Guide, which lays out homeland security technology needs. This session will be a great entry point for those who are just starting to look for ways to work with S&T, and for those who want a full picture of the many avenues we have to partner with innovators.

If you’re interested in learning more about how to work with S&T, I strongly encourage you to watch these video discussions and ask questions. The Innovate S&T series will be hosted quarterly on our Facebook page, and will be available to watch after each live session is over. Your continued partnership is essential to S&T as we strive to find new ways to secure the nation.

Stay tuned for the latest updates on Innovate S&T through our Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages.
