Air-Line Supplied Air Respirators

AEL Category: 01. Personal Protective Equipment

AEL Title: Respirator, Supplied Air

AEL Number: 01AR-01-SAR

SAVER Project: Air-Line Supplied Air Respirators

Air-line supplied air respirators (SARs) provide clean breathing air from an uncontaminated source, and are used by responders  when air-purifying respirators (APRs) cannot provide adequate protection for a sufficient duration of time. Unlike, self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs), air-line SARs may limit the user's mobility, but their air supply is not limited like that of the SCBA.
