S&T at the Security Industry Association Government Summit

The DHS Science and Technology Directorate will have guest speakers and showcase technology at the upcoming Security Industry Association (SIA) Government Summit on June 29, 2017. The event will focus on how government leverages security technologies to support a variety of missions.

Borders and Maritime Security Division Director John Mcentee, part of the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency, will present on how S&T is prioritizing technology needs across different DHS domains, including air, sea, ports of entry and borders.  He will highlight how S&T is reshaping the process used by government, industry innovators, and security operators to co-develop technology solutions that expedite commerce and enhance security operations.

Melanie Cummings of S&T’s Office of Public-Private Partnerships will also outline the process for doing business with S&T. She will highlight areas where the directorate is seeking collaboration to improve research and development practices, including looking at adapting commercially viable technology for homeland security operations.

The SIA Government Summit will be held at the Liaison Capitol Hill, 415 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, D.C., from June 28-29. Be sure to stop by the S&T booth and watch our presentations if you’re planning to attend!
