Personal flotation devices (PFDs) are designed to provide enough buoyancy to keep an individual afloat in water. PFDs designed for swift water rescue provide extra buoyancy, enable freedom of movement, cushion the user's body from falls or blows, and may insulate the user's body in frigid conditions.
The Market Survey Report and Application Note on Personal Flotation Devices for Swift Water Rescue are limited distribution documents, and are available in the SAVER Community on First Responder Communities of Practice (FRCoP).
